“Free Money” – Every June, I travel 20 miles north of the city to tell stories to 3rd graders. They hear an installment per week for four weeks in hour-long sessions (I don’t read, I tell them, improvising along the way). It’s always a delight. Less delightful (for me!) is having to get up at 5.00 in the morning to get there on time. Last Thursday, I was walking west on East 14th Street at 6.30 in the morning when I looked down... and found a ten-dollar bill laying in the street. I’m not sure why finding money is always so thrilling, but it is. So here it is, my lucky ten-dollar bill. Free money for all! And good stories, too.
